Eastern Truck & Marine fully support the government decision to move to level 4 alert from 11.59pm 25th March 2020 in the fight against Covid-19.
During the next four weeks, Eastern Truck & Marine will provide parts and service support to essential sectors only within the transport industry. Many of our customers are on the essential services list and we need to support those customers so they can continue to operate in a safe manner while they are collecting refuse, moving food products, maintaining infrastructure and providing emergency services.
The essential transport sectors we will be supporting are:
· Fuel transport for service stations, truck stops, marine and aviation fuel.
· Transport for supermarket goods and of essential consumer products.
· Refrigerated and chilled products and vegetable transport.
· Primary sector agricultural-rural sector, food supply.
· Primary sector livestock transport, sheep and beef etc.
· Emergency services (police, fire, ambulance).
· Defence force.
· Refuse disposal
Eastern Truck & Marine will be closed to the general public but we will be open limited hours to listed essential service providers only for essential service and repairs.
We will not be collecting vehicles or visiting customers.
Our main gates will be closed and locked with security in place. Only customers who have made prior arrangements with us will be allowed entry with their vehicle to drop off. Drivers will then be required to leave the site. Our drivers lounge area will not be available.
If essential fleet workshops are requiring parts, please ring in advance to order. There will be no walk-in's. We will leave the parts out for you to collect or send via courier. There will be no over the counter contact with our staff.
All staff will be taking extra precautions in our work environment including prior to and whilst working on customer vehicles. Their safety and that of their families is our primary concern.
Our position and work flow will be monitored daily. Our staff will be working in rostered shifts with minimal numbers over the next four weeks. Our aim is to have our staff on site for the least time possible during this time.
Our callout team will still be available 24/7 for essential services only through our usual main landline number.
