Dear Valued Customers and Suppliers

23/4/2020

On Tuesday 28th April - New Zealand will move into alert level 3 and we wanted to update you all on what this will mean for Eastern Truck & Marine Ltd (ETM).

As you are aware Eastern Truck & Marine is considered an essential service provider and we have remained operational during the level 4 lockdown although at a limited capacity for essential vehicles only.

So what does Level 3 look like for Eastern Truck staff, customers and suppliers?

Very little will change for us from our level 4 operations.  Our primary aim is to keep  both you- our customers and our staff safe in these challenging times.  So while we do look forward to seeing you from Tuesday 28th April we are open with the following controls in place:
" We request all sales reps to not attend our site during level 3 period, however long that may be.
" Our main gates will be closed, with security in place, and site access will be restricted to staff and those customers who have made prior arrangements with us to drop vehicles off.
" Our workshop and parts staff are working in small teams on a rostered basis to minimise the risk to the entire team. Therefore operators must phone to make prior arrangements for servicing and/or repairs.  Do not just turn up and expect to be attended to.
" All vehicles entering the site will be treated by our staff as a potential source of infection and they will therefore be taking precautions by using gloves and sanitising or disinfecting areas of the vehicle likely to be touched during the course of undertaking their work.
" Once vehicles are dropped off drivers must leave the site.  We ask Fleet managers and owners to please make sure you have made arrangements to look after your driver's welfare or pick them up.  It is not our responsibility to do so.  Our drivers lounge will not be available.
" Upon entering the site drivers will asked by gate security for their full name and contact details including cell phone number for the purposes of complying with the contact tracing requirements of the MOH alert level 3 guidelines.  They will be signed in and out by our gate staff.  This information will be kept confidential for that purpose only.
" Sub-contractors engaged by us are expected to comply in all respects with alert level 3 guidelines including hygiene practices, physical distancing requirements and to complete our health surveillance declaration.
" There will be absolutely no entry to any of the buildings on our site by any non-staff / contractors.
" The parts department will be operational for phone and email orders only.  There will be no over the counter customer facing sales. The showroom doors will be closed and locked.  All parts orders will either be placed for collection or couriered at your cost (the preferred option)
" Most of our administration and management staff will continue working from home where possible as they have since Level 4 was put into effect.
" There will be no Saturday trading until further notice.

We will still be operating our 24/7 call-out service - and this is available through our main landline number 06 8430400 or 0800 100 401.

Lastly we would ask that you please respect the controls we have in place on site and mentioned above and that you or your drivers also keep at least 2m from staff when engaging with our staff.

We thank you for your support during this time and look forward to helping everyone work through this difficult time together as a nation.

Kind regards,
The team at Eastern Truck & Marine Limited
